What nutritionist says:
It is easy to incorporate chia seeds into your diet – they do not compete with other flavors in a dish so you can add them into nearly anything to boost the nutritional value. However, take note that moisture is required to hold these seeds in place. It is advised to serve chia seeds with moist food or have them soaked in liquid beforehand. Never eat dry chia seeds by themselves! Although rare, it was reported that a patient had an esophageal blockage after eating dry chia seeds followed by a glass of water, as the seeds swell and form a thick gel in his esophagus.

FAQ:
1. For how long should I soak them?
There’s actually nothing too strict about this, usually, they are good to consume when they have taken on a chewy texture – when you’ve let them sit for 20 to 30 minutes.
2. What’s the difference between black and white chia seeds?
There is not much of a difference actually – Both have the same neutral taste and similar nutritional profile.
3. Can I cook chia seeds/ put them in hot water?
It is advisable to use warm water and not boiling water for optimal nutrients.
